Driving a Porsche

Porsche road trip

A Porsche road trip is driving a car that is all about the steering. CCRally is a club for all makes, but Porsche plays a big part: drives, a factory visit in Germany and a season finale at a Porsche Centre.

A Porsche is made to be driven

Whether you drive a 911, a Cayman or a powerful Cayenne, a Porsche feels at home on winding roads. That is exactly what a road trip gives you: miles that are worth it. A route through hills or over a mountain pass suits these cars far better than the motorway.

CCRally is not a Porsche club. Alongside Porsche you will see AMG, BMW M, Audi RS, Ferrari, Lamborghini and more. That makes the group varied, and at the finish your Porsche parks next to a car that sounds completely different. How such a drive works is explained under sports car road trip.

Porsche events at CCRally

In June 2025 we organised the Porsche Factory Tour. A two-day road trip to Germany with a night in a car-themed hotel, a ninety-minute factory tour and free entry to the Porsche Museum.

On 14 November 2026 we close the season with the Porsche Experience at Porsche Centrum Gelderland: a Saturday with lunch, a photo shoot of your car at the petrol pump on the site and time to talk with other drivers. The latest details are on the event page.

The Porsche Experience in detail

The programme is relaxed and clear. At 11.00 participants are welcomed at Porsche Centrum Gelderland. The CCRally Media Team photographs your car at the well-known petrol pump on the site, a setting many Porsche drivers will recognise from photos. At 12.00 we sit down for a luxury lunch, drinks included.

After lunch there is a guided tour and a Grand Tour, including a visit to the private collection of Mark Wegh. It is not a long rally but a relaxed end to the season. There are a maximum of fifty places. The price and member price are listed with the event, and members pay less than non-members.

A night in a car hotel on the Factory Tour

The Factory Tour started on Monday 9 June at 09.00 in the south of the Netherlands. There was lunch along the way, and on arrival a themed 4-star hotel was waiting, where the rooms and lobby are all about speed, design and engineering. We closed the first day with drinks and a group dinner.

That is what makes a brand visit with a club different from going on your own. You drive there together, eat together and walk through the factory together.

German cars and the German Car Drive

Porsche likes to drive alongside other German makes. On 29 September 2024 we organised the German Car Drive for lovers of German cars. We started at 11.00 at JVV Motorsport in Beneden-Leeuwen with brunch and set off at 12.30 on a drive over fast stretches, back roads and villages. Participants navigated with a route book or a digital GPX file, with two stops along the way. Around 15.30 we finished back at JVV Motorsport.

On 24 May 2026 we were at Deutsche Autofest at TT Circuit Assen with a group of twenty-five German sports cars. We took part in drag racing and open track sessions and drove a parade behind the safety car. So a Porsche has several ways to join the club: on public roads, on a circuit and on a brand visit.

Porsche among AMG, RS and Ferrari

In a CCRally convoy your Porsche sits alongside AMG, BMW M, Audi RS, Ferrari and Lamborghini. That mix is deliberate. What counts is that you love your car, not which badge is on the bonnet. For many drivers that is exactly the appeal: you drive your own make but see and hear what other makes do. Afterwards you chat by the cars and the conversations start by themselves.

How to join

Only driving with Porsches?

If you would rather drive only with Porsches, look for a marque club. If you enjoy seeing a Ferrari or an R8 in your mirror too, this is the place. Some drives are mostly German cars, such as the German Car Drive in 2024 and Deutsche Autofest at TT Circuit Assen with a group of twenty-five German sports cars, but most events are open to all makes with a sporty character.

Your Porsche in the picture

Many drivers want a great photo of their car. At the Porsche Experience there is time set aside for exactly that. The CCRally Media Team professionally photographs the participating cars at the well-known petrol pump on the site of Porsche Centrum Gelderland. The Media Team also shoots photos and video at many other rallies. If you prefer not to be recognisable on camera, tell the organisers or the photographer and we will take it into account.

A clean car and a full tank make the difference on a day like that. Everything else is taken care of. The route, the lunch and the tour are prepared, so all you need to do is turn up with your Porsche.

Practical tips for a Porsche drive

Make sure your tyres are warm and at the right pressure, the oil is topped up and your car is insured for driving in a group. On trips over mountain passes a brake check is sensible. In a 911 luggage mostly goes in the front boot, so pack light.

According to the rules your car must be roadworthy, insured and in a safe condition. You drive at your own risk and normal traffic rules apply. A CCRally road trip is not a track day and not a race.

Which roads suit a Porsche?

A Porsche has grip, direct steering and an engine that loves to rev. Those qualities come into their own on roads with varied bends and good tarmac. Think of the hills of South Limburg, the Ardennes and the Eifel, and on a multi-day tour the mountain passes of the Alps and the Dolomites.

On roads like these you feel the difference between a car built for driving and a car that is merely fast. A CCRally drive deliberately seeks them out. If you want to go bigger, look at the Alpine to Adriatic Rally or our page about a supercar tour through Europe.

More than just driving

A Porsche day with CCRally is not only about the car. It is also about the people. At the Porsche Experience there is time to walk around, talk and look at each other's cars.
